The Sports Complex Fort Carson |
August 1998 - Proposal submitted and accepted with contract awarded for the upgrade of 4 of the 8 Sports Field sound systems. The idea was to utilize the existing speakers but put a mixer and other components into service that would be capable of sending sound to each of the 4 fields as needed. The system consists of a 16 channel 4 group mixer, 4 channels of equalization, CD deck, cassette deck, 2 wireless microphone systems, power conditioner, rack vault storage, amplifiers, and locking equipment rack. The mixer can be configured to route each of the score keepers microphones to their respective fields, route playback of the CD or cassette deck to any or all of the fields, route the wireless microphones to any or all of the fields, and more. Routing is accomplished with mixer channel assignment using the 4 subgroup masters as outputs to the 4 fields.
Axxis audio was called on to repair the 8 intercom systems that allow score keepers to talk to umpires, and to effect repairs on the other 4 Sports Field sound systems. Axxis Audio would be called on to provide audio production and support on the new system for softball tournaments to begin just after installation of the new system.
Equipment Lines Installed - Behringer, DOD, Audio Technica, Raxxess, Juice Goose, Marantz Professional, and Rapco components were interfaced with existing equipment (SoundCrafstman, and Atlas/Soundolier).

McMahon Auditorium Fort Carson |
December 1998 - Proposal submitted and accepted with contract awarded for upgrades and repairs to existing house sound system. Upgrades were to include removing a section of seats and construction of a sound booth, large front of house mixer, and more. The desire was to put in a 32 channel front of house mixing console, stereo front of house equalization, 4 monitor channels with equalization, CD deck, cassette deck, compressor/limiter, effects processor, additional amplifiers, rear fill speakers on a time delay to increase coverage to the back of the auditorium, hanging stage microphones, hanging stage monitors, floor microphones, and a power sequencing/management system. All of this was to interface with the existing permanently installed system and a larger portable system if the need should exist for an "in your face sound production". Ideally there could have been some automation involved to handle some of the switching but the budget only allowed for a patch bay approach to reconfigure the system as needed. The portable system was also reconfigured under a separate contract to clean up wiring problems, install a new electronic crossover, design and install a custom amplifier rack input/output wiring system, and generally make the system easier to set up, operate, and interface with the house system.
Axxis Audio would be called on to provide audio production and support on the new sound system for a variety of events beginning just after the system was put into operation to include a Black History month production called "I Have A Dream", a children's dance recital, a concert featuring the Sweet Adelines, a production of Babes in Toyland, and others. Axxis Audio is currently contracted through NAF to provide audio production for shows on an as needed basis.
February 2000 - 5 more Audio Technica wireless lapel microphone systems are added to the McMahon Auditorium sound system.
Equipment Lines Installed - Spirit by Soundcraft, DOD, Marantz Professional, Raxxess, Juice Goose, One Power, Rapco, Crest, OAP Audio, Audio Technica, Sabine, SKB, Liberty, and Genz Benz.
